Forum Terms & Rules: General Posting Guidelines
The following rules pertain to the general-public forums within Hockey Mayhem.
PROFANITY – Members should try to self-censor themselves in public forums. However, Administrators’ and/moderators may edit profane comments at any time.
NO PORNOGRAPHIC OR OBSCENE MATERIAL OF ANY KIND - Any user posting pornographic pictures, or links to such material will be banned. This includes materials within a signature file or avatar. Again this is in all public forums
NO ATTACKING OR FLAMING OTHER POSTERS – No member may harass another member. This includes but is not limited to bringing up their name in posts that they did not start or were not involved in, just to get a reaction from them. Consistently responding to their posts and responding with no merit other than to belittle them.
Password Protected Forums
These forums are password protected for a reason. They are not intended for everyone. To gain access to these forums you should private message the Administrator or a Global Moderator. The administrator has the right to deny anyone access, or take away anyone’s access to these forums at any time.
Avatars and Images
AVATARS - Generic avatars and team’s logo avatars can be located in the My Controls/UserCP section of the forums. They are not exclusive and can be used by anyone with an active account.
UPLOADED AVATARS/PROFILE IMAGES - Each user is able to upload their own avatar or profile image. Any uploaded image must not be off-color or offensive. Those types of images will be removed without warning.
Copyrighted Material
The posting of copyrighted electronic, or print content from websites, magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc., in whole, are not permitted. Copyrighted material will be removed immediately. If you continue to post entire articles you will be warned, and a suspension will be issued if you still can't comply with the rules.
ARTICLES - Its very easy to post a link with a small quote taken from the article wrapped in the quote tag when posting an article.
TEAM PRESS RELEASES - Are permitted providing that in the body of the post, it is clearly noted as being a press release with proper credit given to the team releasing the information.
E-MAIL PRESS RELEASES - If you are a person that receives e-mail’s from teams as a press release, you can post the entire article. Please wrap the article in quote tags and clearly state somewhere in your post that this was received in your e-mail.
Donations
While hockeymayhem.com is free to use we do accept donations. Donated funds are used to pay our normal fees for running the board.

Spamming
DON'T DO IT!
Do not post with the sole purpose of promoting a product, service, or competing website. Use of the personal message system to solicit information from forum members is also not permitted. "Privacy warning: PM contents may be logged or monitored". Spam is not permitted in forum titles, posts, or signatures.
Memberships
We reserve the right to suspend, deny & revoke a users membership, or move/delete/edit a post, for any reason we feel necessary at any time. People are banned and suspended for a reason, please respect that. If your friend has been banned, we do not want to hear from him, so do not post on behalf of a banned or suspended user.
SUSPENSIONS - Anytime that I feel someone has crossed over the line, they will be temporarily suspended for an amount of time to my choosing.
BANS - If someone continues to have problems, and just doesn't get it, they will be banned from the board. Ban could me for a couple of months, or lifetime. Whatever I feel is appropriate.
Privacy "Privacy warning: PM contents may be logged or monitored".
Private Messaging is kept private at all times. The admin of the board is the only person that can check any private message and or e-mails that are sent on or from this forum. If there is a problem between members of the board, Private messages will be monitored, and could end up in a suspension or ban if felt nessasary.

Off-Topic posts
Posts in the wrong forum

Signatures
We deal with reported posts as soon as an administrator or moderator receives them. Due to the nature of a message board system, posts are made in real time, but moderation cannot always be applied immediately.
Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this BB. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.
